The M&A Relationship Manager plays a key role in driving business development efforts by identifying, qualifying, and engaging leaders of software companies for potential acquisition opportunities. This position is responsible for initiating and cultivating relationships with decision-makers, communicating the company’s investment strategy, and advancing opportunities through the M&A pipeline, from initial contact through to the presentation of Indications of Interest (IOIs) and deal closure.
This position will leverage software tools for initial target identification but requires strong interpersonal and communication skills to drive meaningful contact and advance opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively source and initiate contact with founders, owners, and executives of potential acquisition targets in the software industry.
- Build and nurture trusted relationships with key decision-makers to understand their goals and position our investment thesis.
- Present the company’s acquisition strategy, investment criteria, and value proposition with clarity and credibility.
- Qualify and advance opportunities through the M&A pipeline, including preparing and presenting IOIs.
- Support the M&A team by tracking activities and maintaining accurate records in CRM systems.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with corporate growth objectives.
- Represent the company at industry events and meetings, as needed, to build visibility and network with key players.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior executives.
- Demonstrated business acumen and understanding of the software/technology sector.
- Experience using CRM platforms and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for in-person meetings and events.
