We're looking for an experienced Senior PHP / Full-Stack Developer to help build and enhance scalable, cloud-based web applications. In this role, you'll primarily focus on back-end development, designing the services and systems that power our platform, while collaborating closely with front-end developers to deliver a seamless user experience.
You'll be part of a remote engineering team, solving complex technical challenges, writing clean and maintainable code, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our products and development practices.
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications using PHP and modern full stack technologies.
Develop and maintain robust back-end services, RESTful APIs, and business logic using PHP 7.28+.
Build and enhance front-end user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code that follows coding standards and best practices.
Conduct code reviews and mentor developers to promote code quality and continuous improvement.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues across the full technology stack.
Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
Build and integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, and external services.
Develop automated tests and support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
Participate in system architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
Monitor production systems, investigate incidents, and implement long-term solutions to improve stability.
Work with cloud platforms and containerized environments, including Docker and AWS, where applicable.
Identify technical debt and proactively recommend improvements to architecture, processes, and development practices.
Collaborate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, estimation, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Work independently while collaborating effectively with a distributed remote engineering team.
Ensure applications comply with security, privacy, and industry best practices.
Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend tools and frameworks that improve engineering efficiency and product quality.
Take ownership of features from initial design through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
5+ years of professional experience with PHP and JavaScript.
3+ years of experience building back-end microservices.
2+ years of full-stack development experience.
Experience working with remote or distributed development teams.
Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and software design principles.
Experience developing scalable web applications and RESTful APIs.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and the full software development lifecycle.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently deliver high-quality work.
Experience integrating/using machine learning (AI) models.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
Familiarity with PHP 7.2, Backbone.js, HTML, CSS, and AI-assisted coding tools, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
