We're looking for an experienced Senior PHP / Full-Stack Developer to help build and enhance scalable, cloud-based web applications that power our core business operations. In this role, you'll primarily focus on back-end development, designing the services, APIs, and integrations that drive our platform, while collaborating closely with front-end developers to deliver seamless user experiences.

You'll work across a variety of business-critical systems, developing solutions that integrate with CRM platforms, operational tools, reporting systems, and third-party services. This role requires someone who enjoys solving complex technical and business challenges, building scalable architectures, and translating business requirements into reliable software solutions.

As part of a remote engineering team, you'll contribute to the continuous improvement of our products, engineering practices, and platform architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

Full-Stack Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications using PHP and modern full-stack technologies.

  • Develop and maintain robust back-end services, RESTful APIs, and business logic using PHP.

  • Build and enhance front-end user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks.

  • Write clean, reusable, well-documented code that follows engineering best practices.

API Development & Systems Integration

  • Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services that support internal applications and external integrations.

  • Develop and maintain integrations with third-party platforms, SaaS applications, and business systems.

  • Work with webhooks, authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, API Keys), and event-driven integrations.

  • Ensure integrations are reliable, scalable, secure, and resilient.

Business Systems & Operational Workflows

  • Develop software that supports complex business processes across CRM, operational, reporting, and customer-facing systems.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.

  • Improve and automate operational workflows to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.

  • Design systems that support high-volume transactional and operational processes.

Reporting & Data

  • Build backend services that support operational reporting and business intelligence.

  • Optimize database queries and application performance to ensure accurate and efficient reporting.

  • Collaborate with teams to ensure data consistency and integrity across integrated systems.

Software Engineering

  • Conduct code reviews and mentor developers to promote code quality and continuous improvement.

  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues across the full technology stack.

  • Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and security.

  • Develop automated tests and support CI/CD processes.

  • Participate in system architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.

  • Monitor production systems, investigate incidents, and implement long-term improvements.

  • Identify technical debt and proactively recommend architectural and process improvements.

  • Collaborate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, estimation, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

  • Take ownership of features from design through development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.

  • Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend tools that improve engineering efficiency.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional experience developing applications with PHP.

  • 2+ years of full-stack development experience.

  • 3+ years of experience building scalable backend services, APIs, or microservices.

  • Strong proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), software architecture, and design patterns.

  • Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.

  • Experience integrating third-party APIs and external business systems.

  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.

  • Experience building scalable, high-performance web applications.

  • Experience working with CRM platforms, operational systems, or other business-critical applications.

  • Experience working with distributed or remote engineering teams.

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and the software development lifecycle.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.

  • Ability to understand complex business workflows and translate them into effective technical solutions.

  • Experience integrating or working with AI models or AI-assisted development tools is an advantage.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.

  • Experience with Docker, containerized applications, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience with Backbone.js or maintaining legacy PHP applications.

  • Experience with reporting platforms, analytics, or business intelligence solutions.

  • Experience integrating CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk, or similar operational systems.

  • Experience working with contact center technologies, telephony platforms, dialer systems, or customer support applications.

  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures, message queues, or real-time data processing.
