We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tax Specialist to join our team and handle various tax-related responsibilities for our company. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements in multiple countries across Europe (e.g., Ireland, the UK, Romania, and Malta) and the US.

As a Tax Specialist, you'll play a critical role in safeguarding our operations, optimizing tax strategies, and ensuring our compliance with tax regulations across diverse regions.
Responsibilities:
- Manage tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, with a focus on the United States and Europe, ensuring adherence to local and international tax requirements.
- Identify tax risk and with potential commercial solutions and bring them to the attention of the board.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations relevant to the business, assess their impact, and proactively advise on necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.
- Prepare and file timely, accurate tax returns and reports, maintaining comprehensive and organized documentation to support audits and regulatory reviews.
- Collaborate closely with finance, accounting, and payroll teams to integrate tax considerations into financial planning, reporting, and payroll operations.
- Support tax audits, inquiries, and regulatory interactions by compiling required documentation and providing clear, accurate explanations.
- Develop and advise on tax planning strategies to optimize tax efficiency and align with broader financial and operational goals.
- Liaise with external tax advisors and consultants to address complex or specialized tax issues, ensuring informed and compliant decision-making.
- Streamline and enhance tax processes by identifying efficiencies, implementing automation or tools where appropriate, and applying best practices in tax governance.
- Provide training and guidance to internal finance staff on tax matters, fostering greater awareness and understanding of tax compliance and planning across the organization.
- Design and implement foundational tax compliance processes, ensuring accurate, timely filings and adherence to relevant regulations across jurisdictions.
- Establish and develop the company’s tax function, aligning its structure, capabilities, and practices with the evolving needs of the business and future growth plans.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax compliance and reporting, preferably in handling a diverse set of international taxes.
- Basic understanding of International tax laws and regulations. Hands-on 3 years of experience in either US or European taxes.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and organized tax records.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with internal teams and tax authorities.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tax deadlines simultaneously.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are a plus but not mandatory.
